Issues
- At the end of installation (I did a complete install) the message
Setup was unable to the create the necessary shortcuts. Unable to find path. Setup is unable to continue and will now abort. will come up. Do not press OK, as that will wipe the installation. Instead, bring up P2P, and choose "Stop running games". (Or close Cedega manually, if not using P2P)
- The patch cannot find Icewind Dale 2. To fix, add the following lines to the relevant system.reg file:
[Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\App Paths\\IWD2.exe] 1109466743
@="C:\\Program Files\\Black Isle\\Icewind Dale II\\IWD2.exe"
"Path"="C:\\Program Files\\Black Isle\\Icewind Dale II"
[Software\\Black Isle\\Icewind Dale II\\1.00.000] 1109465367
After doing so, the patch works.
- After installation, starting a game may result in an endless stream of "DDBLTFX_MIRRORLEFTRIGHT" messages in the console. Turning Software Mirror BLT to ON, (in the configuration utility, not the ini file) should eleminate this problem, and allow starting games.
- Depending on the distro, the game may slow down to a crawl when accessing the inventory screen. This appears to be a pthreads-related problem as detailed in the release notes under 'pthread stack size'. If your distro has pthread problems, the game is nearly unplayable. On the other hand, if your distro has no problems with pthreads, you should be fine.
- The game may not allow scrolling the map with the mouse. Try starting it in its own xserver set to the correct resolution.
