Point2Play 1.0.1 Release Notes

April 30, 2003

Transgaming Point2Play 1.0.1 is a maintenance release of Point2Play, addressing reported issues with the initial release.

Please refer to the Point2Play Beginner's Guide, available in the Downloads section of the transgaming.com website, for detailed usage instructions.

If you require assistance, please feel free to make a post to the Point2Play forum.

In this release

  • Games with multiple CDs are easier to install.
  • Processor time while running a game is reduced.
  • P2P can now be configured to either autodetect pthreads, or force pthreads usage on or off.
  • A number of usability issues have been addressed.
  • A Debian package has been made that can be installed on Debian Stable distros such as Xandros, Lindows, etc., as well as on Debian Unstable.

Known Issues

  • The ability of Point2Play to find the CDROM drive with some distros. Until this is addressed, mount and umount the CDROM from a shell, outside of P2P.
  • Mounting and unmounting CDs should provide some feedback. For now, to verify if a CDROM is mounted or not, execute either: "mount" or "cat /etc/mtab" in a shell.
  • Point2Play may not display properly with some user-defined themes.
  • To remove a game, in some instances, you may need to remove its individual icon first before being able to remove the actual game.
