Croco, I saw your name in the Special:Recent Changes, saw the list of games and interlinked them, and only then I noticed that User:Jzono1 left me a little note in my talk page that I should fix his game list. Oops. Sorry, thought that was you :) Feel free to reverse the change if you don't like it :) Tels 13:21, 23 Jan 2005 (CET)

I can't reproduce your findings in Descent 3. Could you tell me some more details? (Cedega Config settings, patch level, and Descent Configure settings.)

Hmmm... I did some test and figured out, that d3 works now with nearly any version of cedega and with default configuration. However, w2k setting is necessary. So, only reason, I could figure out, is my new nvidia 7174 drivers.. The main menu of d3 displays version number 1.0, but if I remember correctly, I have tried 1.4 patch.

I just played with it more.
4.3.1 mostly works, but crashes at the end of CGI cutscenes. Since there's one before the first level, it gives the appearance of not working at all, but is actually fine once the level is loaded. By loading a game, or starting at level 2, or playing the tutorial, I can play the game with 4.3.1. Still, 3.2.1-1 works better.
Now, about the "Sold Out" version: From what I've heard, Sold Out versions are slightly different. How many CDs did your version come on? Does it have a cutscene before the first level?
Evilmrhenry 22:48, 18 Apr 2005 (CEST)
I have 2 CDs. All Cutscenes are working, but a little bit choppy.. One thing more - I have new kernel 2.6.11, too. With my old kernel and old nvidia drivers, my copy did not work with any version of cedega (including 3.2.1-1).

OK, I just cleared up the Descent 3 page. It should be accurate now. Thanks for your help.

hi
hi, how did install colin mcrea rally 2004? installshield gives me 0x80040706 "object refernce not set" error. how did you solved this?
p.s. i'm using cedega 5.0 / gentoo w/ 2.6.14
I'm not sure, but there are usually two different installation tricks. First, try using "run directory" and "winver=2000" options. Second choose is to try an older version of cedega (NB: older versions may need disableing of prelink and exec-shield). If you need more help, I can retest this game.

Retesting done. Winver must be windows 2000.
