Account creation
We need a few more people that will take a look at the account creation thread every now and then, and create accounts for users that request one. Would you be willing to do this?
Omega 05:01, 10 May 2005 (CEST)
Sure. Just upgrade my account, and I'll start right on it. Anything I should know?
Evilmrhenry 23:08, 10 May 2005 (CEST)
I upgraded your account and you are now a wiki sysop. I did not flag you as a buraucrat since this allows you to turn other users into administrators. And me and pacula would rather be in charge of that.
Things to know (and probably things you already know =)):
- Account requests are done in this thread on the TransGaming forums. Anyone who cannot post here is denied from getting write access to the wiki, because it will mean that the user is not a subscriber. (We aren't able to look into the TransGaming userdatabase and link it up to the wiki database. So this is how we run things and it seems to have been working out just fine.)
- When I create accounts, I use APG to generate a list of passwords and pick one from the list. Feel free to use this service as you see fit.
- One cannot have an accountname which is an email address.
- After the account creation a confirmation needs to be posted in the account creation thread. See this thread for reference and you'll spot pacula and mine posts.
- Passwords are to be sent to the user via the TransGaming forums Private Message system only.
I hope to have informed you enough. If you have any other questions, do ask.
Thanks for wanting to help us maintain this wiki and create the accounts for it.

I took care of the account backlog; as far as I know, there is now nobody waiting for an account.
Evilmrhenry 01:17, 11 May 2005 (CEST)
Thanks a lot for the help! I don't want to think about how big a backlog of accounts had built up while I was out - I was and am too scared to check. I guess if you'll be keeping an eye on the account-request thread too now, I probably should remove the note about the backlog from the main page.

Readme Wikification
Just saw that you added the latest README. I once wrote a script to assist in that. See Talk:Release_Notes for instructions on how to use it. Hope it is usefull :)
If you have any questions, please drop me a message.

Hi we've come up with a new game info table. Could you please use this instead of the old one?
Sincerly,
Omega 21:01, 26 Jan 2005 (CET)
OK
OK; I'll update my changes.
Cool, thank you very much. Feel free to update any other games if you have time. (And I see you have.) Updating them all by myself is going to take a while and I can use all the help I can get. =)

Thanks
I just wanted to thank you for doing all the work on the wiki in the past three days. It's much appreciated!
Omega 03:53, 26 Feb 2005 (CET)
I'm done for today, but all games from A-H now use the new game info table.
Actually, I did everything from A to F. ;-) But thanks a lot for all the editing. Really, it's great that you find the time to do it. Makes me wonder if you weren't using a bot. =P
Cheers,

If you take a look at the recent changes page, you should see that it didn't stick. I think that means people were adding games with the old table.

That gives me an idea. . .
One second. . .
I am now. Expect the last third to be completed by today or tomorrow. (OK, not a real bot, but things should move faster now. I'll post it after I'm done.)
All done
As far as I can tell, all games now use the new game info table. The script I made helped, but it would have helped more if I had created it before editing half the database (sigh):

Thank you very much. This is most excellent.

Yes, a possible reason for this is that they only wanted to edit small things. And a reason to why they didn't use the new database is a riddle to me, perhaps most really couldn't read and thus, copied and pasted one of the old tables.

There is an actual wiki bot for this, but I haven't really looked into it and I don't have my bookmarks. I believe it was written in python and could log into the wiki and do all the edits on it's own. Which is pretty cool. I'll give you a link to it once I have my bookmarks, and you're interested in it.
Omega 09:11, 28 Feb 2005 (CET)
I don't need the bot now. ;)
Heheh, that's fine I suppose. =)
Could you please try using ~~~~ to insert your name and the time followed by a ---- to insert a horizontal line. Makes it easier to see who wrote what. More details are to be found on Help:Wiki-FAQ
Omega 09:14, 28 Feb 2005 (CET)
Ah. Time to try this out.

Anonymous editing
Thanks for the quick catch and the heads-up. The setting controlling this changed and I didn't catch it in the notes - it should be fixed now. Pacula 16:08, 13 April 2006 (EDT)
New sysop?
Any problems or concerns about the idea of adding Tels as a sysop? - Pacula 13:13, 21 April 2006 (EDT)
Nope. - Evilmrhenry 13:53, 21 April 2006 (EDT)
