Issues

  • Custom Battle.net games might hang if the host is reachable but the port is blocked (eg. firewalled), probably due to different TCP timeout on Windows. Only know fix right now is to kill Warcraft (wait for the timeout can take a few dozen minutes so its faster to restart Warcraft).
  • Battle.net web profiles will kill Warcraft. On Windows they start the Explorer, but this does not seem to work at least on my machine.(Note: This will kill Warcraft 3 on all Distros Except SuSE 9.0+. Not sure why this is, also if using Gnome 2.4 plus you can use the ALT + TAB to switch back to Warcraft. While in the game you can use the ALT + ESC combo to switch to the desktop. If Internet Explorer is installed using Wine it will load the Battle.Net Profile)
  • There are some reported issues on certain systems, if fixes are not on this page, try this page and please update the WIKI.
  • If you set the antialiasing higher than "4x, 9-tap Gaussian" with nvidia-settings program, the game will suffer from font issues like random missing letters.

Fixes

  • In order to be able to play TCP/IP games over a LAN, use the help described at the bottom of this page.

Notes

  • To improve performance and stability on certain systems, try starting using the following command:
  cedega Frozen\ Throne.exe -opengl
  • A personal note (by User:Volker), Waaagh!TV (Multi-user watching) is natively available for Linux and we would like some feedback on the client software.
